Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is on the cusp of penning a new contract that will tie him to the club until 2027.

The Piacenza native joined in the summer of 2021 following the departure of Antonio Conte. While he had his highs and lows during his first two campaigns at Appiano Gentile, Inzaghi has taken his game to a whole new level this term.

The 48-year-old led the Nerazzurri towards their 20th league title, thus unlocking the second star. This also happened to be his maiden Serie A triumph.

Therefore, the management is looking to reward the Italian tactician by offering him a new contract.

The former Lazio man currently earns 4 million euros per season, while his contract will expire in 2025.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri are looking to push back the deadline until 2027.

The new deal will also include a pay raise. Inzaghi is expected to collect 6 million euros per year as a net salary. This figure should rise to 6.5 million after adding bonuses.

Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi All Set To Pen A New Contract Until 2027

Yesterday, the club’s sporting director Piero Ausilio described the coach’s contract extension as a mere formality.

In today’s edition, the pink newspaper echoed this statement, suggesting that the parties already have an agreement in place. All that is missing at this point is the signatures.

As the source notes, if Inzaghi were to remain at the club until 2027, he would surpass Giovanni Trapattoni and Eugenio Bersellini who served for five years.

The legendary Helenio Herrera remains the only Inter manager to stay at the helm for eight years.
