Kyle Robertson/Columbus Dispatch-USA TODAY NETWORK

The Ohio State Buckeyes are competing against some conference foes for another conference foe’s defensive transfer. You read that right.

According to 247 Sports’ Matt Zenitz, Ohio State is set to host Michigan State S Jaden Mangham, who has a standout sophomore season for the Spartans with four interceptions.

Mangham will visit Ohio State this weekend, then will pay visits to both Nebraska and Michigan next week. One thing is certain, Mangham will be staying in the Big Ten.

To go along with the four interceptions as a sophomore, Mangham totaled 53 tackles and three passes defended. In his freshman season with the Spartans, Mangham had 20 tackles in eight games played.

While he led the way with the interceptions, the Buckeyes’ transfer target can get up around the line of scrimmage and get to the ball carrier.

Mangham had over 30 offers as a four-star talent out of Franklin, Michigan. ranked as the No. 13 athlete in the class of 2022. Mangham is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety who will have two years of eligibility.

Ohio State could push for a commitment this weekend, if not expect a decision to come after next weekend’s visit to Michigan.
